Sculpture, classically speaking, is the artist's treatment of form and space... In order for the general public to appreciate metal art, New Media Park, the organizer, has held 2 conferences at "Cloud Space" Theatre on 2nd March. In turns, the four artists expounded on their own know-how and on their artistic careers. Besides, the participants, members of Foshan art associations, art school teachers, students and art lovers, were able to admire the works of the artists. A certain student from Zhang-Cha Middle School told the reporter: "A total shake-up within me, upon viewing the masters' metal sculptures so full of flow and fluidity…"
The evening of 8th March, the foursome will hold a collective show, to take place at the exhibition hall of New Media Park. The organizer states that, besides fostering knowledge of western art of sculpture among Chinese youths at Foshan, the Symposium will be a very fruitful event in promoting cultural interaction between East and West.”

Vicky
“Vicky graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London (England) in July 2012.
She is a textile design major, but after her collaborative experiences with metal artists Lau Kwok Hung, Christiane, etc., she has proven to possess superb talents in metal sculpting. She is able to use iron to express textile materials' peculiar innate beauty, thus opening a new frontier in metal sculpting.
Through the influence by Lau Kwok Hung, her recent artworks embody chinese culture in its multifarious expressions. Vicky's creations do not stem from fixed design projects; she continues to experience a lot of inspirations during the working process, where she will indulge in exploring ever-new effects. In this exhibition series, Vicky is focused on her studies of ancient Chinese Imperial robes. She makes use of an LED projector to transfer onto a steel plate previously selected patterns, then she traces the pattern with Chinese brush and ink, before proceeding to sculpting. But she exploits her imagination during the plasma-cutting, thus enabling herself to better treat the details, and to optimize the textile quality of her sculpture.”
